Hello, I am looking at a computer: Specs: Windows 7 home premium, Intel i5 2300 2.8 Ghz, 6mb L3 cache, 6GB memory, Intel hd graphics 2000. Will this run autocad 2011, 2012, etc? I believe everything is good except I don't know about the graphics 2000.

In my experience;

Even a basic gpu will do better than the HD2000.

If you're going to do alot of CAD then you'll want to invest in a base model design GPU.

What is your budget? What type of powersupply are you using (brand name and size)

if you are doing CAD and only(no gaming), so buy cheapest workstation card - it will act much better than usual gaming card. Reason is(among many others), that autocad uses Open GL, and pro cards have same performance in GL as in D3D(when gaming ones have 1/5). And stability gain by its drivers will impress you, believe me, plus good support from manufacturer, nvidia or amd, and from Autodesk(because with those drivers you should encounter 0 problem such as crashes, and if you got any - they will really support you)

In my work I use an E7500 with a GMA X4500 from intel, not fast, but very light CAD is ok.

Why not try to use the HD 2000, and if performance not enough just upgrade?
Or go for the i5-2500k. It have a better iGPU
