Forum Graphic & Displays : Graphics Cards New Build - Just need to decide on a video card

Hello,
I am building my first computer and am down to only the video card. I will be using the pc mostly for video encoding and watching hd tv and movie files. I do not game but wouldn't rule it out in the future. I am looking to hopefully spend between 100-150 dollars if possible and will be purchasing from Neweggin the next day or two. It will need to have two DVI. I don’t want to over buy for my needs but don’t want anything too old either. Your input is appreciated.

Here is are some of the components that I have for my build:

Two HP 2311X 23” Monitors
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) RAM
Corsair HX650 Professional Series 650W 80 Plus Bronze PSU
Cooler Master HAF 932 full tower case
Cooler Master Hyper 212 PLUS CPU cooler
ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155 Motherboard
Intel i5-2500K CPU
Crucial M4 CT128m4SSD2 SATA III Internal SSD
Multiple Hard drives

The cards that I have been considering are:

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable VGA Series GV-R685OC-1GD Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit

I'd go for the 6870; it is the most powerful of those listed, and you can use it. Great for gaming if you choose to do so in the future.

Thank you all for your thoughts. I have already spent more than I wanted....my fault as I didn't make a budget to start with. Definitely will be spending less than 200. Feel free to make specific recommendations if you know of a winner. 6950 2gb?? Nice card but ouch... want to keep the price down to mid $100.

I ended up going with a Diamond 6770 PE51GB.... it was just 69.99 after a $20 rebate. I decided that I can always upgrade in the future.

Total spent including WIN7, Rosewill card reader, Samsung DVD burner, Logitech G110 backlit keyboard and Logitech mouse... and after rebates.... $1401.18. That's a reasonable package for the price I think.

You can build now, because you have a z68 board!

Yeah, but with a bunch of stuff planned for the first half of the day, I would rather have a day where I could start in the morning in case I run into noob issues.
