I would like to be able to watch my comcast digital cable on my pc. I have the "Hauppauge 1191 WinTV-HVR-950Q" but it does not fufill this need. what I understand is that it is because it doesnt not support digital cable. I would like to buy something which I can plug my coaxial cable into and view on my pc. (comcast digital cable)

If your cable box is close to your desktop, you can request a cable box with IEEE FireWire, then just plug it into your computer.

So say I got a cable box with a firewire port and plugged that into my computer I could use my computer as a DVR and still watch cable on my TV correct?
