So just got a very large tax return and got the wife to let me use 1200 for upgrades... so many things i would like to upgrade, of coarse my problem is I'm not sure what to use from my current to allow moneys to be spent where I need it most. Just fyi I don't care to have the best on the block.. i just want to put 1200 in it where its needed most.
Current system:
AMD Phenom2 x4 BE B55 (unlocked from x2 BE)
Biostar TA785GE Mobo (I will definitely be upgrading this)
6g OCZ ddr2 (specs dont matter, throwin it out with mobo)
PNY GTX 550 Ti
Intel 80g ssd/200g WD (old)
OCZ 750w psu
CM storm enforcer case
acer 120hz 3d rdy monitor w/ 3d vision (big goal is to use this cause 550ti struggles)

to let you know where I'm budgeted and planning to purchase atm
Intel i5 2500k sandy bridge (will this be a price worthy upgrade)
MSI p67a-g65 mobo
16g Gskill Ripjaws z ddr3 2133
MSI twin frozr iii gtx 570 pe/oc
WD black 1tb 7200rpm

8 GB of RAM is more than enough, so you can take that money and apply is else-where. Perhaps a new Intel SSD? (And you can sell your old Hardware/SSD for extra cash as well).

Your current system is nice. Consider selling it intact (or giving it to family, or...) and getting new case and PSU. You are planning to buy everything else new....

gtx570 is a monster.

Right now hard drive prices are bad with the Thailand flooding. That should be over in a few months -- supply is already picking up. You currently don't use that much disk space (Intel 80g ssd/200g WD). Consider a pair of 120GB SSDs, go to raid 0 (striping), it'll fly for 2X $180 = 360. vs. $200 for the 1TB WD black. (aside my pair of 1.5TB wd blacks were $90 each a year ago, and they'll be that price again in 3-6 months). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820227706 Or just hide the $200 you'll spend now on the drive, keep the old drives, and buy two new drives later.
