Hey guys,

Just priced up an upgrade to an i5 system and i'm just wondering whether or not it would be worth the extra money or whether I should wait for the Ivybridge processors.

Upgrade

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Zalman CNPS9900-MAX

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz

OCZ Agility 3 60GB 2.5" SATA-3 SSD

Total price including P&P from OCUK: £426.20

At this moment in time i'm not struggling to play many games for example i can run BF3 on ultra with around 30FPS however I can't help but feel that my new system has become incredibly dated because of the DDR2 RAM but also because I believe my system is bottle necking my GPU's performance.

Do you think the price tag is worth it? as i heard the new ivybridge CPU's will be using the same socket.

Cheers
