My pc has been loosing power and then the motherboard will reset everything to default. I asked on here and most people believed it to be the psu. It wasnt. After leaving it alone for quite a while, I now know there is a faulty connection between the gfx and the motherboard. Unless in the correct position it won't even boot properly.
This is fine if I can get it in the right position, but any extremely slight movement and it looses power, I'm guessing this is a safety feature of the motherboard?
My question is; how do I find out if its the actual pci-e slot on the motherboard, the gfx card, or maybe my case has buckled slightly (it doesnt look like it).
Finding out whats at fault without spending a lot of money would be great, especially as I now have a nice new spare psu!
It sounds like it might be sticking out an amount that is hard to notice for a person, but not for a computer.
You can also think about trying to clean off the contacts and see if that helps.
The best way for you to figure out the problem is to find another computer you can plug your video card into and see if it has the same problems, and to find another computer you can borrow a video card from that you can plug into your own computer.
