Hey folks, I am building a box around the i7-2600. No, I am not going to get a i5-2500 k and overclock it. My last two systems were built around unlocked cpu's and I never learned how to overclock them and I am not going to overclock this one either. Time to face reality.

I am going with this cpu for the advantages in video rendering. I am tired of waiting two hours for my phenom II x4 to render videos. I don't play any games. I will run two monitors. I also do some audio recording so I will get semi-pro audio monitors.

Here is what I have so far:

CPU - i7 2600 http://goo.gl/HLxzH $299
Mobo - MSI P67A-GD65 B3 Intel P67 http://goo.gl/8gE9c $139 after rebate
RAM - Kingston Technology HyperX 16 GB Kit http://goo.gl/3njfi $79
GPU - EVGA 01G-P3-1526-KR GeForce GT 520 http://goo.gl/jdyJf after rebate $49
PS - OCZ ModXStream Pro Power Supply - 600-Watt http://goo.gl/KXFSv after rebate $49

Price without optical drive or HDD $620

Looks ok. Newegg has a 2 tb hd in their email promos for $109, but you have to register. They also have an optical drive for $16.
