If we could make change to the site it would probably work more often.

You have no control over the website? let me guess only the French developers have it.

It certainly wasn't for his comment where He said

I report Ramdomizer all the time. Most often for being brutally honest. And funny.

So, the question remains. Is the Email Notification button coming back?
Do you need a certain "badge" to see it, or is it just random?

You mean the envelope button right? I see it still...

Reply to randoMIZER

I've lost both buttons (that were in the top right corner) on Firefox and IE8, unless they moved or something. Weird.

Maybe it's a moderator feature :D. No really why is it gone for many of the users?

Still in the same spot for me.

It may still work for mods, but it seems that for we plebes there will be no more following of threads simply because we are curious.

So expect a whole lot of 'huh?' replies to threads where one is just curious. (Don't know if the 'notify' button on the replies is still valid, but that seems to now be the only way to express curiosity...)

I don't know why it's showing for mods, this feature shouldn't be tied to privileges. Oh well, bug report time again.

Double check me, make an anon account and then see... But the email notifications now seem to be very hit and miss.

Reply to 13thmonkey

If you do the full post ("Add a Reply" ) I get a check box that I can use to turn on notifications.

I logged on with my other account, and I didn't have the enable notification option either. I do have it on this account. Weird....

Towards the end of the month/beginning of the new month, the whole system seems to go on strike. It's a known reoccuring issue.

I still get notifications (I got this one) I just have to use the full post or full edit (not quick) buttons.

You have to post in the thread for that option. I believe they are referring to the white envelope that is normally up at the top. That gives you notifications without having to comment in the thread.

I know (I was complaining earlier up, 3rd post). I just wanted to make sure others knew that one still works if you do actually post.

After digging up an account I created about 3 years ago I don't have the envelope icon so it seems that it is indeed only visible to mods.

Hi,

I will report this.

Justin

Reply to justinblue

Why is justinblue the only admin who ever bothers to post in the forums?

jpishgar posts here as well.

Reply to randoMIZER

But how many administrators are there?

------------------------------ http://www.danasoft.com/sig/Banshee292286.jpg
Reply to Bruceification73

Justin is the only one with the Administrator title, Joe is Community Manager but is also an admin and then there's also the ninja admins that never post and have a title that doesn't really indicate what they do. http://www.overclock.net/images/smilies/ninja.gif

So basically 2. But they don't do site development (apart from managing forum categories and stuff). That's handled upstream.

Hi there, can someone list me some accounts that would not have the enveloppe showing on threads where they did not contribute (and also some URLs where the enveloppe is missing, in case that not all pages are impacted)? I can't reproduce this, even with a classic (non mod) account.

(sorry, I posted this first with my test account)

Reply to natcparis

Hey natcparis,

I posted a screenshot of the issue, using my non-mod account, in this thread.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] utton-gone

However, the problem seems to be solved now.
