LGA 1155 vs 2011 Upgrade Potential

Forum CPU & Components : CPUs LGA 1155 vs 2011 Upgrade Potential

So I'm looking into building a MATX performance system, and am wondering what platform would be the best to upgrade later on. Originally, I planned on putting an i3 2120 with an Asus Maximus Gene board, and then switching to the i7 3770k Ivy Bridge CPU when it comes out. However, I now realized that the Rampage IV has an MATX form, and am conflicted. Should I go with 1155 to Ivy Bridge, or use a 3820 and upgrade to the Ivy Bridge E 3930k equivalent, or just use a 3930k now and skip Ivy Bridge totally? Thanks.

You won't be getting much performance with matx on both of those setups....
Upgrade paths:
1155--->ivybridge i5-3570k or i7-3770k
2011--->RUMORED ivybridge-e

The Rampage IV is an EATX board, not mATX.

i do say, i7 3930K lga 2011 ---> ivy bridge - E well since ib is a tick+ we will be having a tock or tock+ or whatever it is, you just go grab those since sb-e will perform well both gaming wise and non gaming wise, it's good.

If I'm doing SB-E I think I wanna go 3820 to save a little cash, I think I will stick to 1155 though so I can buy the 680 when it comes out.
