Don't skimp on memory, bd loves fast memory. Id recommend asus mb for the bios oc options.

I was thinking of getting 8gb ram 1600 and Asus CROSSHAIR-V-FORMULA AMD Mainboard - AM3+
That good?

What will you be doing on the machine? list all your system specs.

On the one web site that did testing, and on my own tests. 1866 seems to be the drop point in performance gains. Roughly 2% from 1333 to 1600 and again to 1866. But from there, the next 2% is at or near 2200. I found my 2133 on sale for the same price as the 1866 so I didn't pass it up.

I think you got a very powerful sytem indeed

Everything is in place and superb, but why 1000W PSU? a 600W PSU is sufficient, 850W if you plan to add another GPU in Future.

Same board as mine, but I got the 8120, 4.7 ghz under 1.4v (1.36v), 49c max after 12hr p95. Have hit 5 but required 1.43v and hit 62c, and most of my programs/games rarely even hit 85% cpu usage, so don't need 5.0 ghz right now.

Awesome thanks for all the replys. You reckon i wont need 1000w? beacause will be overclocking my cpu and gpu and i will later on add a anthor 7970 maybie i should get the Antec High Current Gamer 900W

Nothing wrong imo with too much power. Never know what the future may bring and buying a new power supply for every build is unnecessary

2 HD 7970s Draws maximum of 440W, total system wattage in guru3d test setup they recommended a 750W for the 2 cards in CF, if you're going to OC the GPUs and the CPU a 850W PSU is more than enough.

Future cards will draw less power, they will be based on 22nm Process.

Great community on this site. thanks guys i think i will just go with the 850psu or 900psu depends which is cheaper.

I was thinking of getting a core i7 2600k. but since intel gets like 75% of consumers i really feel like supporting amd. Just one last question do you think the amd 8150fx will bottle neck my 7970s

Reply to Stanistheman

The cpu itself will not. Intel is faster mainly becaise the pci e controller is on chip, making its communication shorter, less latency. There will always be a slight advantage until amd gets their pci e contoller moved to the chip as well.

Reply to noob2222

Oh alright. although intel is faster i think a 5ghz bulldozer will beat on intel. Thanks for the help.
