Hello, for the past 2 months I have been trying to figure out why when I connect my Hdmi cord from my LCD tv to my laptop to watch movies, or just simply access my laptop, it appears no signal, and it says check cord and so on. I had a LCD repair specialist come to my house, and he says my LCD is fine, it is my laptop, a setting on my laptop, but the thing is i never changed the settings, because months before I was able to connect my LCD with hdmi cord to my laptop. I can use the cord on my brothers LCD and hook it up my laptop. I don't get this. Is there anyone that can help me

First i would set the laptop display to 720i or 720 @ 60hz just for compatibility.
Then connect to the tv and see what happens. You may need to hit the special key to switch where the laptop is outputting to; its usually a key combo like Fn+f3
Check your manual if your not sure which key it is.
