i want to upgrade my toshiba c640-1010u processors from intel dual core to intel core i3 ? can i do that ?

It appears that this laptop has the Intel® Pentium® P6100 which is using the same microarchitecture as the 1st generation Intel Core® i3, i5 and i7 mobile processors. While I can't find out information on the board/chipset that was used on this to tell you for sure it appears that you can use any of these 1st generation Intel Core i3 processors http://ark.intel.com/products/fami [...] sor/mobile To know for sure you will have to check with Toshiba to make sure that the board will support these processors.

This however would seem to make a smart upgrade. However be careful as your laptop may not fully support it
