hello i have the i5 2500k. i wanted to know what cpu cooler i can get that will let me keep my ram that i have with out cutting off the fins. the ram i have is Corsair Vengeance Series. the case i have is the nzxt phantom.

air cooler or water?

if you use one of the closed circuit water coolers like corsair h60 etc there are no issues with the ram clearance

i have 16gb of corsair vengeance with the corsair h80 and plenty of room round the cpu socket to fill all the ram

well i had the h100 in my case. and the it would not fit the ram so i would like to go with an air cooler this time. i was just looking around, and Noctua NH-D14 looks like it does cover the ram.

was it the radiator blocking the ram?

as cant see how else it wouldnt work

the h80 and h60 have a shorter radiator so should work if the rad was fitted towards the rear of the case

Something like this Zalman would work http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835118019 Don't go with something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 + as it will hit the memory heatspreader (the Vengeance memory is 2" tall and the 212+ is only 1.8" on the bottom of the first fan).

Also if you are going to run your Intel® Core™ i5-2500K at stock speed you can use the Intel stock cooler as it is fine at those temperatures.
