Hi, soon I am going to build following rig, and I am not quite sure which PSU to buy...here is my configuration:
2500k
mobo:P8Z68 V LE
hdd:1tb
Seagate barracuda
dvd rw drive
graphics card:gtx560 ti or 6770....

I calculated my required wattage at newegg and it comes out to be 505w. Please guide me to correct psu wattage and brand. I have cooler master and corsair available here. Also, what is meant by gold certified or bronze certified?

Gold and bronze is how effienct they are at converting the incoming electrical to what the computer needs.

Unless you plan on SLI'ing two 560Ti's down the road a corsair 500w range unit will work great; like the cx500 or the gs600

I would get a much better motherboard.

Depending on what's available i'd buy a Corsair over a CM everytime.
A CX430V2 will run a 6770 no problem.
If you go with the GTX560ti i would recommend a CX500V2 or 600V2.
The Corsair CX500V2 will power either one of those gpus.

I too thought like that before making my choice. I was planning on p8z68 v gen 3, but it gets expensive here in India. Also, there are no gigabyte service centers nearby which may help if my mobo is defective. Newegg don't ship to India too.
BTW, is there any other reason without Bluetooth, more phases, extra Ports that I should worry about this mobo? let me know your opinion..

To be very Frank,I don't know much about it.it's my first build. And all I know is,I want a power supply of around 650w. I am confused in models myself. Can you tell me cm's good ones?

Out of gs600 and cx600, which ones is better?

Reply to mmost

coolermaster silent pro gold psus are good atleast working well for me.

Reply to hellfire24

hellfire is correct, only the CM silent pro's are good models.

and the cx600 is much better than the gs600.

for your build, the cx600 will be the best option, imo

I'm curious as to how you came to this conclusion.

The cx line is made by seasonic, while the gs line is made by CWT (channel well tech)

Ah, the old Seasonic is better than CWT trick, I agree
Here's the problem, the only CX that was a Seasonic inside was the 400 and they discontinued that one

Reply to delluser1

wow, did not know that. who makes the cx line now?

Reply to ebola28

hahahaha, thanks for the info :D

:non:

In the CX line, only the now-discontinued CMPSU-400CX was made by Seasonic. The rest of the CX and GS line of PSUs are made by CWT.

I'd buy the Seasonic it has a 5yr warranty and better efficiency 80+ Bronze.
