1000 Watt power supplies

Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods 1000 Watt power supplies

I've been looking around for a new power supply for awhile now and came across a In-Win commander psu on sale. Right now I have a cyberpower pc 950 watt and think its faulty. It looks pretty good except maybe the fact that it has 4 rails but I don't really see that as a downside. Any comments on this or anything that might be better in a reasonable price range? http://estore.in-win.us/product_in [...] ucts_id=41

Neither of those are a very good psu. what is your budget range and country?

My country is America and my buget is uh... Well up to 200 but thats a major stretch, Ive looked at seasonics and corsairs but they don't seem to appeal to me that much for some reason. Also I already have a In-Win case and love it. I need something with at least 6 6+2 pin pcis and alot of molex thats also pretty future proof.

For the budget minded there is always the Rosewill Lightning... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817182239

This OCZ has a banging rebate... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817341045

If you really want a quality unit then the Seasonic will be a winner, and these aren't too bad:

Be nice to know the OP's specs, just because a Cyberpower PC has a 950 watt psu , doesn't mean it needed it.

For a system using two GeForce GTX 460 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 700 Watt or greater power supply that has a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 46 Amps or greater and that has at least four 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The In Win Commander Series 1200W model, you're looking at, is a discontinued model. It's based on the older less efficient CWT PUC 80+ platform.

You're better off getting a more efficient power supply nearer to your power requirements than to get a high power inefficient one. You should be looking at a good name brand 750W model.

If that's his configuration, then this one is even overkill. Seasonic built, 5yr warranty, single 70a rail.
