Hello, i was wondering if that would be a bottle neck, the 840 is oced to 4.0, and was thinking about getting another 6850, or a phenom II x6 instead, with just a 6850. What do you guys think?

I once ran my HD 6950 on a stock (but unlocked) Phenom II X3 720BE & was doing around 25-35fps on Crysis 2 and 2nd highest setting at 5760x1080. I bought another HD 6950 for CF & got 50-60fps so I guess even the stock 4 core 720BE still have a lot more to give. The Phenom II x840 oced to 4.0 should do better (I guess the high OC should compensate for the lack of L3 cache).

Im thinking @ 1366x768 the X4 840 @ 4GHz & Radeon HD 6850 is pretty well balanced.
You're probably getting 50+ FPS with no AA? and 40-FPS with Post-Process & 4xMSAA?

In BF3 there is an AMD issue when you try and run Post-Process & MSAA

Yeah i get about that. I got a .cfg that boosted the fps and get about 30-40 fps on ultra. So do you think if i got another 6850 it would still be balance? I just want 50-60 fps on ultra

2nd HD 6850 should help you reach that goal. A CPU upgrade with Phenom II x6 would not.
Checkout the Crossfire scaling from the THG article in that link above.
