Hello,

I am planning to build a home virtual server box to host multiple virtual machines. I am not going to use this box for gaming.

I am stuck with which cpu to choose and the mobo, i have narrowed the list to 3 processors, i7-3930K, i7-2600K or xeon E3-1280 series. and should i buy a workstation/server class MObo or a desktop mobo???

I am building this server primarily for learning experience as a one for all server.
Setup:
Vmware ESIx hypervisor,
5 virtual servers ( sqlserver, E-mail server, media server, active directory & webserver)
1 SSD drive for Operationg system
3 Drives setup with RAID
2 Gigabit ports, one setup for external access

Thanks
