Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods Help with Case

I’ve been looking at using a Dell XPS 730 for my first PC build basically because I have a XPS 720 and the case has a similar outside design. I’ve posted a couple of message in the form and I know I can use it, but I need to be aware that the MOBO fit upside down and the case has limited air flow. Since this is my first build, it has got me thinking that maybe I need to use a more current case. So I’ve decide to ask the form for advice/suggestions based on what I’m looking for in a case below:

• Full size ATX Tower
• low noise
• external I/O panel with USB 3.0
• open front panel (no doors on the front)
• Flat top with no more than half the top air flow out take

I’m not using liquid cooling for the system.

I appreciate your help and patience with this first time builder.

Unless you have some special purpose for the XPS 730 case, you can do much better with a standard ATX chassis. Or even a mid-tower. Browse the options available to you on Newegg's site and pick a case that has the features you desire and the appearance you like. Here are the full ATX tower cases for instance:

I have the HAF 912. It's a Mid-tower, not a full tower and is quite roomy. And not as expensive. All the Cooler Master HAF cases have excellent air flow design. (HAF stands for High Air Flow) But, unlike the COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced in the list above, it doesn't have USB 3.0 front panel ports.

These are some of the popular choices right now. You will have to check each one for the USB 3.0 ports as I could not narrow the search down that far.
