Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods [Solved] Cutout in my Spedo

I like my Spedo case with one exception: There's no cutout in the motherboard tray behind the CPU. I want to create my own. I'm thinking it should be pretty easy. What should I use to create the cutout?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a dremel. But I don't know much about pc modding, i am just thinking a dremel. Wait until moto gets on and he will help you.

Yeah, a dremmel with a cut-off wheel should do the trick nicely.
Just mark where you want to cut with as sharpie and make sure to do the cutting far away from any components ;)
After you have cut out the hole, be sure to deburr the edges so you do not cut yourself/your components later!

Should be a pretty easy mod, best luck!

A dremel will cut through the metal? Is there a specific bit you'd recommend?

you would need to use a metal cutting bit. usually, looks like a circular sawblade, but with either very fine teeth or no teeth. :D

Depending on what angle you are attacking it at...

You can punch 4 holes with a drill and use the disk cutter, then smooth off the edges, or which ever way you come up with that fits :)

Great info. Thanks. What do you use to smooth the edges?

Got the dremel bits. Now can anyone tell me a way to find the time to do this?
