Have you set the Audigy as the default sound rendering device in the sound properties?

Check in device manager to see if there are no conflicts.
Also , I hope that the Mobo you're using does not have a Via chipset on it.....

I get it, but it's really difficult to say what the problem is, 'cos you say everything shows up where it's supposed to be, everything has been setup the way it should be.
I can only advise you to check the card in another system to see if it's actually working or not.

Thanks, was thinking the same thing however my other PC has Vista on it and im starting to think it might be this service pack 3. the drivers specify Windows XP service pack 2. working on doing an uninstall of SP3 now.

Before you uninstall SP3, you ought to check the card in the Vista rig. I'm using a Vsita 64 Ultimate SP2 rig and have an Audigy in it working perfectly fine. Although none of the Creative Softwares worked earlier, bu later it installed the main Creative Audio Control Panel, and that was the most important one. I identifies the card as SB Audigy.... and the card is actually an Audigy II. I have not had any prblems with it in my Vista Rig till now, which is pretty amazing.
