I have an LG 22" tv/monitor, but the sound from the tv is very 'tinny'. How do I play the sound from the TV through the speakers on my PC(where the sound is much better? The PC has a 'onboard' sound card.

There is a blue audio port in your onboard soundcard. It is usually line-in port. If you have tv audio output port and connecting cable, then connect it to blue line-in port and tv output port.

If you using higher then two channel, like 4.1 or 5.1, then you must use that line-in port as output. So connect it to other free port and configure through audio driver as line-in. Or you can simply connect the speaker to tv output port directly.
