Which cpu amd 1055t or fx6100 for photoshop & gaming

Hello,
I would like to know which cpu is better amd 1055t or fx6100 and I want add 12 gb ram patriot 1333 mobo something around 100 and radeon 6950 or something around 200 and 64gb hdd
I dont want any super high end pc something mid class

ha well sounds good enough but if your gonna do Photo Shop and gaming i do recommend either a bigger SSD or a HDD. unless yo a faster boot up time or benchmark your hard drive, a HDD will do just fine. I use the FX 6100, So people have luck with it some don't like it. But in my experience in Gaming it does work and works well at it. Multi Tasking is no issue for this one. and you don't have to spend top dollar to have the highest end PC

I agree the I cores are the best choice. For what you want to do I would say the I5 2500k. If though you already have the AMD motherboard and your deadest on that then I would say the Phenom II 1055.

I have e8400 rite now n thinking about amd since is cheaper tho

If you have about 500dlls ...and use some old components ..then 2500k and later upgrade from there ...if you dont then ...wait for the new amd chips to get out later t his year ...sucks to be on a budget ...

180? If it's 180 dollars than it's probably not a 2500k (unless it's on sale). You can't really overclock a non k version I core processor. They can only be overclocked a few hundred MHz. A K version can be overclocked to about 4.5 GHz. I would get a 128 MB SSD. You won't really be able to store much on it, probably just the OS and important drivers but it will make boot ups faster.

z68xp, if you are going to buy an asus board do not ever get the lx or evo versions.

It is not a good board, I choose the z68x-ud3h-b3 over the v-lx when purchasing my 2500k combo as you can see in my sig.

Because like anything you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap board the overall quality most likely won't be as good as a high-end board. I've seen people buy cheap motherboards and have everything from a flakey BIOS to dead PCI-E slots and dead RAM slots.

Once you decide what mother board your getting you have to go onto the manufactures website and You have to check the RAM compatabilty list. If the motherboard supports Corsair Vengence then I would get 8 gigs of that. As for video cards I would say it depends on your budget and if you want to go with Nvidia or AMD. If you want to go Nvidia I would look at the GTX 570 or 580. Or if you're not in a rush you can wait for the GTX 6XX series to be released in the spring. If you want to go AMD then I would look at the 6970, 7950 or 7970.

It doesn't seem like very much other then price. The only thing I can tell is that the XP has an M-Sata connector.

Thats up to you but 60 Gigs isn't really alot. I would do atleast 120

Mushkin makes good RAM and 8 Gigs is more than enough.

As long as you pair it with a "K" version CPU like the 2500K then yes. If you got something like a I5 2500 then no you wouldn't really be able to overclock, not to the same degree as an unlocked CPU.

Gigabyte makes good boards but I personally would not buy a board under 125 dollars. It just seems like there are to many problems with the cheap (50-100 dollars) boards.

It should be fine. The worst that can happen is the board is screwed up out of the box. If that happens all you can do is RMA it.

Any of those should be fine. There is no such thing as real future proof motherboard. Intel and AMD are both constantly changing sockets and chipsets so at some point you're going to have to change. Right now Z-68 is the most "future proof" because it will be backwards compatible with Ivy Bridges. If you have a Z68 board it should last a couple years before it becomes completely obsolete.

That looks fine. just pick one in your price range and be happy with it.

Do you have the Windows 7 CD and key code? You can try to do a fresh re-install of Windows and see if that helps. You can also set Windows up in an SSD if it isn't already. An SSD will speed up the load time by a good bit.

What BIOS version is your motherboard using now? Revision 1? If it's using revision 1 and there is an update to revision 2 then yes you can flash the BIOS. You should carefully read your motherboard manual on flashing because it can be risky. If something happens like the power goes out while it's updating or the flash fails you can brick the motherboard. You'll have an unfixable expesive paper weight.
