Hello,
Well my brother has a core i7 but its locked..
someone told my brother that if he removes an ic and places it back then it will unlock..
the ic is something like "winbond 25Q64BVSIG"
Is it true..
can anyone help me with this..

i7 processors are not locked, but he may have a model that can't be overclocked. Removing and reinstalling a serial flash chip on the motherboard isn't the smartest idea.

Not true...and likely to ruin the mobo.

 

And as said above, he probably just has a multiplier locked one. No way to fix that.
