For those of you who do or have run 3 580s, aside from a higher electric bill, are there any performance issues you run into with 3 580s?

I currently run 2 with no issues whatsoever. I know if I were to add another, I'd have to get a new PSU (see signature).

Biggest thing you will run into is a processor bottleneck. You'll need something over 4.4Ghz to push them properly

Is that documented? My 580s now reach loads in the high 90s while gaming (ie BFBC2). Why do you think the processor would bottleneck a 3rd? Does the 3rd push it over the edge?

It looks like it depends on the game, your CPU, and resolution. Newer, more demanding games at higher resolution will benefit more, but I assume you already knew that. This article doesn't mention any specific issues, like one of the GPU's not working or something like that, just the bottlenecking issue.

Definitely a good read. Apparently, unless I want to upgrade my monitor resolution to at least 1900x1200+ or move toward a multi-monitor setup, I have reached the limit and will begin to experience CPU bottlenecks with 'dated titles' if I add a 3rd 580.
