If you mean something like the Killer 2100 or similar products, Then there is no real advantage.

Yes it will lower your ping in games slightly, and may even help you get a couple FPS in your games.
It's a good idea, but it's nothing ground breaking and usually isn't worth the cost.
You would be much better off spending the money on a better CPU or GPU.

Right but you still need a NIC regardless to connect to the internet, whether its an integrated NIC or an addin NIC.
