Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P won't boot

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Gigabyte Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P won't boot

Hi!

I'm assembling my new computer and can't seem to get it started. Power goes on for half a second, CPU fan starts spinning and all the leds flash for a moment before everything powers down.
Here are my specs

Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P
Intel i5 2500K
Corsair verngence DDR3
XFX PRO 750W PSU

I could put the video card in as well, but it doesn't matter.

So that's my situation. I tried dissconnecting all cables except the main power cable going to the MB, but the problem persists. I also took the MB out of the casing to rule out the system short cutting. No beep, just fan and LEDs for about 0.5 seconds.

Best regards,
Rasmus

I would send it back. Unfortunately, bad boards aren't that rare. I've had 3 in the last year. And it sounds like the symptoms I've had with a couple of them.

unless you test the power supply its impossible to tell whether or not its the psu or the board itself.. if you have a voltmeter laying around i'd test your psu first, otherwise throw it on another system real quick and see if it'll light it up.
