So its time for my 3rd asus v pro gen3 board. This time I hook everything hooked up, plugged in a usb keyboard/mouse, and then powered on. It goes through the LED's once, and stops at boot device and beeps once. There is nothing on the screen which is connected by vga, to a working monitor, from the motherboard.

CPU: 2500k i5
GPU: 550 ti
MOBO: Asus v pro gen3
RAM: G skill ripjaw 4gbx2 1333 1.5v
PSU: antec 620 eco
HDD: seagate 750gb sata 2 2.5:
Case: Cosari 500R

Tried unplugging hdd, and unplugged power to gpu. still one beep and than nothing.

What do you mean? I have a windows 7 iso on a bootable usb stick. I have used this method on my other computers without any problems. I usually have to go to the bios inorder to select the boot order to removable but I can't even get to a bios screen. Nothing happens after the beep.

Can u reset the BIOS?

Reset the CMOS memory the right way as is described in the motherboard manual using the clear CMOS link with the power cord unplugged.

It sounds like you are going through normal boot up, but have no video. A single beep is normal on successful start up, as is that boot device message you are seeing (I assume on the LCD poster?) since you have no OS. Since you have a dedicated card installed and are connected to the motherboard instead its entirely possible the onboard video has been disabled. I realize the board has switchable graphics, but I am not sure if its enabled by default. it could also need a BIOS update. So try connecting the monitor to the 550ti. or try removing the 550 and using the motherboards still.

I cleared the CMOS by switching the jumper but still the same thing.

I'll try connecting the monitor to the card. I have tried to turn it on with the card installed but with its power cord removed, would that be the same thing? Or would I have to remove the card completely?

I usually install the GPU card and install from there. Connect the power.

you would have to actually remove it. normally having something in the slot is what disables the onboard. never had one with switchable graphics though but this sounds like what's going on.

Yep got it working I though you had to go through the mobo first than the GPU. Thanks. Got windows 7 on there now.

Yeah, if u use the GPU card, windows have a generic driver with in the install DVD, so it should work just fine with any card.
