i am planning on upgrading my ram from 8GB to 16GBon my p8z68 motherboard, i have the Corsair Vengeance 8GB with the large heat spreaders using DIMM's 2&4 leaving 1&3 Empty and i plan on keeping them and adding another 8GB of ram

my only problem is i am buying a cpu heatsink for my computer and i am heading for the Phanteks or Noctua at the bottom

Phanteks PH-TC14PE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835709001

Noctua NH-D14
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835608018

my only concern now is i was planning on getting the same type of ram i have already have in my computer and add them to my empty DIMM slots 1&3 but i know the vengeance ram is incompatible with either of the heatsinks because the heat spreaders on it are large and both heatsinks covers DIMM 1, since adding a second set of vengeance ram is incompatible with the heatsink i am left wondering can i add another set of ram with the same speed, cas latency, timing, voltage to mix with my current vengeance ram set because i found the g.skill sniper at the bottom to be the same specs as my vengeance ram and i would like to know will it be compatible with heatsink and motherboard running different type of ram or would i have to switch to water cooling like h80 or h100 because i am not looking into water cooling?

G.SKILL Sniper

im also considering the hyper 212 evo can anyone tell me if the Hyper 212 Evo with the 2 fans push/pull mess with the 16GB vengeance ram large heatspreaders?

You can try with Hyper 212 PLUS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835103065 and push the fan up not to have contact with the RAM heatsink.

My advice is to buy H80 and you will not have any problems with RAM heatsink http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835181016 and is a great cooler.

the h80 is what i am looking at right now and it might be what i go with but i just need to know will the COOLER MASTER V8 be a problem also with 16GB vengeance ram?

I have a the Noctua NH-D14 on my p6x58d-premium mobo. I think our mobos are about the same ram placement design.

I put in some Corsair Vengeance ram, which has pretty much the biggest heatsinks you can get on ram, and I had to move one fan up a bit.

So it will work with the noctua, but you need to offset the fan nearest the ram, which is easy and wont really cause any heat issues if you have the other fans going as well.
