how do i update the bios for the gigabyte GA-970A-D3 motherboard? will it still work like normal when you try to turn it on with the fx-4100 then go to the bios and then update it?

Are you having issues with your motherboard? If not I don't reccomend upgrading your BIOS. You could possibly do more harm than good.

I think Qflash utility in BIOS via USB.
If everything is running normal why to update the BIOS ?

According to the newegg reviews on that board it works out of the box with FX, too bad I can't say that for most of the other AM3+ boards.

Now if you buy somewhere else and they have older stock, it may not work. Must have bios F6.
