[Motherboard] Gigabyte E350 USB3 Realtek chipset driver problem

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Gigabyte [Motherboard] Gigabyte E350 USB3 Realtek chipset driver problem

Hey guys need a bit of help,

I have a E350 based HTPC that used to run XP, no problem, everything ran well.
Decided to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit, but suddenly the PC starts to freeze randomly. Turns out the culprit is the realtek HD audio driver. Windows 7 pre installed audio driver would work but then freeze after a few sec/minute playing. If I disable the audio driver the HTPC would ran flawlessly.

I tried installing audio driver from gigabyte, and from realtek but both produce error during installation process (something about there's already an ongoing installation process already) - I did a hard reset during installation once (because the pre-installed audio driver froze my pc).

Any idea on what to do?

Thanks in advance

Buy a cheap audio card and disable that Realtek audio driver. This one is cheap and good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6829102003 and work with win 7.

Problem is I have a mini ITX casing so no slot for a sound card. Oh well I guess I just have to get an external one, or a mini DAC. So compatability is the issue?

disable background programs as possible in task manager.
uninstall old audio driver in proper way through add/remove program.
reinstall driver for windows 7.

None works I'm afraid, no background program as it's a fresh install. Both uninstalling and driver sweeper don't help either. The driver just won't install.

Problem solved, installed 32bit version of Windows 7.
