Quick Compatibility question for P8Z68-V PRO and DDR 3 2400

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Memory Quick Compatibility question for P8Z68-V PRO and DDR 3 2400

Just a quick question would this model of memory http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=452 <--32GB DDR3 2400
work on an Asus P8Z68 - V Pro Gen 3 mother board?
The specs on the mobo say it only supports 4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory (2200 MAX)
The other memory says it is designed for X79 chipset but I think that's just because it's "Quad Channel"
Just wondering if I pop this memory in my board it would work or it would beep
Anyone know?

The memory controller resides on the CPU. You should know that lately Intel has been enforcing a 1333Mhz limit on RAM, when it comes to warranty service. Anything higher is considered an overclock. Also anything over 1.5V.

Even if you can hit that OC with that RAM, I see no reason to try. You are better off at 1.5V and 1333. There is very little actual gains in performance to be had.

Hey thanks for the fast reply. I don't even think GSkill makes that memory anyone newegg says its discontinued. The stock speed on the memory is 2400MHZ though. I know that board by default sets all ram to 1333 but it can handle 2400MHZ. I was just curious to know if it would beep because it isn't made for the Z68 and only for the X79. I know in the BIOS DDR 2400 is an option. (It's more for curiosity than anything)

I imagine it will run at default settings.
