Hello, I have just build a new desktop. Installed Windows 7 64x ultimate. Every time i try to play music or do something that takes some processing power or mem it automatically restarts every time. Seems to load slow and feels like im running a p133 lol.. Any suggestions the causes? Jared All the temps in the case are normal. Here is the set up G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB), CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V, HITACHI Deskstar 5K3000 HDS5C3020ALA632 (0F12117) 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5", AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard, EVGA 512-P3-N802-AR GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI.

Then you should run a memtest.

I agree. Restarts generally mean bad RAM, but could also indicate a bad video card.

I've had both cause this situation in the past.

Even without a blue screen, bad RAM can even cause your PC's OS to trigger its shutdown routine at seemingly random moments or black out and restart as if you pushed the reset button.

Either way, running the memtest is a necessity in diagnosing the issue.

Nope, It just restarts. So often you cant really do any thing lol.. But ill run the mem test.. Thanks!
