I have a acer aspire x1700 and i was planning to buy

BUT my case doesnt have a removable rear panel.
so do i cut out the back?

Do you have a new windows coa? If you still have vista from acer, then your new board won't even run in windows. I recommend you sell your system intact instead of changing boards. It's safer and might be cheaper in the long run to just start over. Newegg has a good shellshocker package deal that includes a similar board to the one you selected: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Imag [...] 6832286084

You can also get a new windows coa there or search for deals on craigslist. Be sure it's a sealed copy.
