Forum Motherboards & Memory : Gigabyte Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 compatibility with G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR‎

Hello,
I am interested in buying the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 motherboard (with a 965 CPU) and I couldn't find a clear answer to the following: is it compatible with the G.Skill Sniper F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR‎ memory (8 GB total, two modules of 4 GB 1333 DDR3 each)?

This specific memory is not listed on the motherboard's memory support list ( http://download.gigabyte.asia/File [...] xa-ud3.pdf ). Nor is the motherboard listed on the memory's qualified motherboards list ( http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=337 ).
However, usually components might match each other even when they don't appear on such lists. So, are these two specific products compatible, i.e. will work without any problem whatsoever?

Thanks in advance.

It should work fine. Everything matches except the last two digits of the part number, and those only indicate Sniper packaging(S) and kit size(R) which in this case means which heat sinks are included and a 2x4gb kit.

with the higher heat spreaders on those RAM sticks, what CPU cooler you planning on using.?

Thinking about the Noctua NH-C14. Is it too big? Should it pose a problem? Taking in mind that you can remove one fan.

Thanks!

it's cool and with only using a 2pc kit you'll be fine..
top fan is cool for sure, 100%.
bottom fan, I doubt it.

let me know if I can suggest some.

Please do. What's most important to me is silence (which I understand the NH-C14 does well). Thank you!

one more question, what case you putting this into.?
and with that motherboard and it's layout you want to stay away from coolers over 100mm unless you have clearance.

Thank you for your replies. I am planning to use the CoolerMaster Elite 310 case. I assume it is big enough (although I'm aware it's the compact among the non-compacts).

should be enough room for any listed, I use a lower profile just in case but I can go full height too.

and to further above, when I mean clearance I mean from the RAM.
my 100mm fan being low profile leans right up next to my RAM and if I was to use all fours slots,
I'd be in trouble.
