I am building a server based on the mobo s1200btl.
According to the copatibility list of Intel, the Kingston RAM KVR1333D3E9SK2/8GI should be compatible with this board. Also the Kingston website mentions that this RAM should be compatible.
During start-up, the monitor did not receive a signal. The systems got stuck, signaling a potential ram issue.
After searching and trying everything, I contacted Intel. They asked me to check the modules on the RAM, which appear to be hynix modules, which should be Elpida?
"Not compliant" according to the Intel guy?
He mentioned that I had to check the type of DRAM modules on the memory as wel?
Excuse me...?
When checking out the compatibility list of Intel, the particular Memory type of Kingston is mentioned, yet mentioning (indeed) a different ram module.
The ram module on my current Kingston memory is however used on other hynix memories, but are compliant.
This seems all a bid akward to me?
For me it seems hard to believe that Kingston sends in a memory set for compliency tests, while changing the specs afterwards.
Then again, maybe I missed something.
My questions:
- Did someone else have a similar experience of having a compliant memory stick, which eventually isn't
- What other issue could signal ram failure?
