im building a computer for a friend, and the problem im running into is that everything powers up, but i have no display on my moniter, the PSU has come from his old computer as that computer would not read or find any dvd or hdds, it would boot to the display screen then stay there, could it be that this 500w psu is faulty and no need to swap the motherboards?

GIGABYTE G41MT-S2PT
INTEL CELERON E3400
4 GIG RAM (ONE STICK)
ALL ARE BRAND NEW, THE only existing item is the PSU P4 500W
