I just finished a new built for a friend of mine using and older Gygabyte GA 965P - DS3 together with an E6600 cpu. The power supply is an Enermax 620 watts , Crucial DDR2 800 ballistix tracer 2 gigs, and an MSI HD4870 with Windows 7 home edition. He is not a gamer, he only wants to surf the net and keep track of his business. He owns about 10 rental properties and needs to start working more efficiently with his numbers. I'm yet to install the OS. I have two questions:

1) The computer started right away but it stopped for s few seconds and then it started again. It worked without a hitch after that. Can anyone tell me why Its doing that?

2) How much can I charge for this system ? I'm really not sure how to price this computer. Btw, i put a windows on the case and all the fans are lighted. Its rather fancy and it catches the eye instantly.

1) Did it only do that once, or every time you start it up?
Any post errors?
Looking at user comments the board seems to be a bit touchy about the memory configuration / voltage.
Make sure the heatsink is properly installed.

2) It's your friend, give it to them at cost :) . If they want to reimburse you for your time tell them what it cost and work out a reasonable amount with them.

Looks like mostly used stuff for your build. Hard to price really. Could be a power supply issue or motherboard. Windows install may sort it out. I've seen posted boards that absolutely refused to load windows no matter what configuration you try. Then you start checking items like the capacitors.

Yes, only once.

Thanks for your response.

Install windows and run tests on the cpu and memory. If the problem doesn't repeat I will be very difficult to determine why it happened the first time. Might've just been a one time thing that won't happen again.

bios update check in the first priority .. sometimes system restarting in the very beginning could be cause of memory compatibility check and the latest bios may be a fix.

I installed the OS and all the drivers and the problem went away. Right now the system is working beautifully. Thanks to all.
