What have you done to your system recently? Moved? Added new ram? Anything else? When you reset the bios, you must enter at the post screen by pressing an "f" or "del" key, change the boot order if needed, save and exit. You can't get past the post screen until you do this simple step on some motherboards. Some will load defaults automatically after a few seconds and continue loading the operating system, but some require you to check the bios first.

First item to check is your keyboard and mouse connections in the back of the case. If they're in tight and the system is freezing at the post screen, then you may have a motherboard or ram stick going bad. You may also have a bad bios setting, such as disabling the usb keyboard setting by default, which prevents your usb keyboard from being detected by the system. Start by removing the ram stick from dim slot 2, leaving one in dim slot one, and see if it loads your operating system. If it does, run memtest and check the ram stick for errors, then repeat with just the second stick in the same slot. You can also clean the heatsinks and fans (including the power supply fan) inside your system with a special canned solvent made especially for this purpose. I use a product named "century duster", which is around $3 on sale at frys. It cleans and leaves no residue. Don't rub anything with a rag, which can cause static discharge that can damage components. Wait until you have the proper product. I use an esd strap to prevent damage when handling either the motherboard, cpu, or ram sticks. Also, you must press the key to enter the bios before it reaches the post screen. At the post, you can release the key and the bios screen should appear.

It does show "press "del" key to enter bios.

Remove an unnecessary components... i.e. External stuff like printer, flash drives, external hard drive.... then disconnect some components inside... like your CD Rom drive and hard drive...

do these one at a time to diagnose what is causing the "hang"... usually its the Hard Drive....
