hi im thinking of upgrading my ram atm i have 4 gig 533mhz <2x2gig> my cpu is a phenom 2 965 3.0gig x4 ,mother board is: asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K10N78 i mainly use the achine for gaming and started playing crysis2 ill also be upgrading my vid card so im not using onboard vid, but my question is: how far should i upgrade my ram and with what 1066? using win 7 ultimate 64 bit. thanks for any advice in advance.

I don't think the Phenom II will support 1066MHZ memory. It may work, but it will default to a lower speed. I would look for 800MHZ. But DDR2 RAM is getting scarce and demanding a premium price today. Here are some choices...

And remember, always match pairs of RAM sticks. And use the same for all 4 slots if you go that route.

I'm afraid I may have given you some faulty advice. After further investigation, it appears both the Phenom II 965 and the Asrock board support 1066MHZ memory with a few minor exceptions.
