Forum Motherboards & Memory : Supermicro SuperMicro X7DAE Upgrade Advice

Hello, I have a SuperMicro board with the following Specs :

Motherboard : SuperMicro X7DAE
Processors : 2 x Xeon 5160
Memory : 16gb DDR2 Ram

I am looking to upgrade the processors , but I am unsure which are the best ones for my board. Can I upgrade to more recent 7400-series "Dunnington" or do I need to stick to the Woodcrest series, of which I believe the 5160s are the best available?

Maybe someone could offer some advice?

Many thanks

The X7DAE can support the Intel Xeon 5400 Series CPUs which would be your best be for an upgrade.
