Forum Motherboards & Memory : Jetway Memory Speed problems

I just bought this JETWAY JHZ03-GT-V2-LF Which claims to support DDR3 1600(OC) I also bought this ram to go with it G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800).

Ok problem I am having is when I go into the bios and change the setting to manually run at 1600mhz it just wont do it.. I set it to run at 1600 Exit savings changes.. Once I get back into windows and open my amd overdrive utility my system memory is still listed as 800mhz. So I go back into the bios it is still set for "manual 1600" but yet right under that setting all greyed out is my ram speed and timings and it says 800 still..

I've poked around on the internet for hours trying to resolve this issue all the forums say check your ram timings and voltage well the timings look correct but there is no option for voltage and the only setting I can find to adjust the ram speed is already set to 1600.

I just want it to work correctly and display my ram speed as being 1600 in the bios and in my amd overdrive utility.

There is no issue here. DDR memory is rated at double the speed of the actual frequency. Thus, any software will show you the correct speed which is half of rated speed. It is like 800 MHz for 1600 MHz, 667 MHz for 1333 MHz, 533 MHz for 1066 MHz and so on. DDR stands for Double Data Rate.

Makes sense.. yet confusing.. If its operating at 1600 why cant it just show that.. Anyways TY for the help :)
