Hello,
I am trying to remember the name of the band in 1970's that bought out an album cover that had a big face like a cartoon with its mouth eide open showing the dangly thing at the back of the throat...does anyone know

Sounds like Mick Jagger to me - Google for Rolling Stones album covers.

Really? I immediately though of In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson.
