Hello,could a motherboard damage by connecting the power switch to the power switch and reset ground pins

I've never damaged one that way, but I suppose its possible. Need more info.

Doesn't sound like it would cause a problem. But you could've had an electrostatic discharge somewhere on the board and not even known, this could have caused a problem.
