Ram Card

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Aopen Ram Card

Installed one 1 Gig ram card and three 512 Mb ram cards in Aopen AX4R Plus with Northwood A80532 CPU 2066GHZ, Intel Granite Bay E7205 and when using Everset Home edition software, Total Physical Memory is 1535 Mb, Swap Space is 1770 Mb, Virtual Memory is 3306 Mb, should it not be higher ? In Dimm 1 and Dimm 3 it's a 512 Mb each, Dimm 2 it's a 512 Mb and in Dimm 4 it's a 1 Gig. All 512 Mb cards are DDR SDRAM PC3200 (200 MHZ) 64 Bit made from different manufactures. The 1 Gig card is DDR SDRAM PC3200 (200MHZ) 64 Bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your going to bump your post 2min after you post it Christmas night? Give people a chance dude.

How much was seen before? How much is seen in the bios? What chipset does your "Aopen AX4R" have? (845? 848? 865? etc.)

Get another 512MB stick for DIMM 4, with the same specs as the other 512 MB sticks.

That advice is supported by this review of your motherboard:

http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardw [...] Review.htm

This format is simply a different angle to dual-channel memory, and has the same performance as two separate memory channels, except the E7205 has an expansive 4GB memory limit, and does not have the need for an arbiter chip. Installed DDR pairs don't have to be from the same manufacturer (though that's optimum) but needs to be the same size, speed and chip-count.

That appears to answer your question succinctly.

Alternatively, we've had great success with this Corsair PC-3200 and Intel's 875 chipset:
that PC is still running well as a backup storage server:

If the latter works out well for you, you could double up because your chipset's limit is 4GB of physical RAM (see above).

p.s See also Corsair's Memory Configurator e.g.:

They don't list your exact motherboard, so I picked one that sounded close enough:
it came up with a list, one of which was also my recommendation above.
