Hi there,
my little brother wants a TV card for his birthday and our mother aksed me if I could check which one is the best for him.

Here his computer:
OS: Windows XP Professional
Cpu: AMD Athlon XP, 1243 MHz (12.5 x 99)
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-X (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)
Chipset: nVIDIA nForce2 400
RAM: 768 MB (PC2100 DDR SDRAM)
Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (128 MB)
Sound: nVIDIA MCP2 - Audio Codec Interface

As you see his computer is a bit older.
Could you recommend me a cheap and good card for him?

Thank you very much :-)

By "TV card" you mean something to watch TV on the PC?

What is your definition of "cheap"?

Anyone else in the family interested in watching TV on their PC?

Do you have cable/satellite TV?

Do you have HD feed?

I'm guessing you're looking an analog only tuner? I have in my basement a Compro PCI card (Videomate PVR/FM) that would drop nicely into his PC. It is fully functional and I pulled it from my system because my cable service has started transitioning to digital channels. The unit works great and does come with its own software for viewing, recording, scheduling (no need for windows media center). It also comes with a remote.

If you're interested, I can provide pictures. I am willing to sell it for like 20-25 bucks.
