Dual Channel in Triple Channel Board

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Chaintech Dual Channel in Triple Channel Board

Word :    Username :

I accidentally bought some dual channel ram. But the board I am getting says that it needs triple channel. Will there be any problems with using dual channel in the EVGA Classified SR-2 board?

Hi V-Key and welcome to Tom's forum.

If you want the best performance of your rig and the CPU, i suggest to you change the RAM for a tri-channel kit.

If you can't change it, you can run the dual-channel kit in the mobo without problems.

^+1. Agreed on both counts. Will it work, YES. Is it optimal, NO. Good luck!
