Hello,
I have an alarm coming from my mobo which appears to coincide with busy processor, so first assumption is CPU temp. Is there a way I can monitor this temperature whil running, or do I have to reboot and look through the BIOS, which means the system could cool in the meantime?
Thanks for all help
Jon

Try hwmon. it will list all kinds of temps.

Thanks for your help. Someone else also referred me to a utility freeware called speedfan, which has been very helpful.
Incase it is of use to anyone else, I have also now discovered that the acceptable operating temperatures vary widely for different CPU's. My system was beeping because I had the monitor setting in the BIOS set lower than appropriate for the Athlon CPU.
So I can safely set it higher now that I know.
