Hi there this will be my first NAS Device and it will be primarily be for sharing media (720p videos & music) over a very small home network.

I was looking at the Dlink ShareCenter 320 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] nter%20320

Its very resonable in price & seems to advertise what I will need it for.

But a friend recommend me to a Synology DS211J http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] Tpk=DS211J

Im wondering if the extra 100 is worth it? Besides the faster processor and ram on the Synology what can I benefit from it and is it worth it for my needs?

Synology makes excellent products, but it probably has more features than you need for home network media sharing. The DLink will probably work well for you at a lower price.
