I just got a Patriot Pyro SE SSD. It is supposed to go up to 550/500 but i am onlt getting 350read and 300 write. I am using AHCI and sata III. Would I need to get a SATA III cable? I am not sure if there is any difference. I am using the SATA cables that came with my Biostar 890FXE.

Your SSD uses a SandForce controller so you need to benchmark with ATTO software.

That sounds about normal. SSDs are advertised by their maximum rates. It's sad to say, but ~350 should be what you see. Try Dereck's test, though.

Yeah, ATTO is the benchmark that I used. Oh well, it is still much faster than my old HDD.

Did you update the software to newest version ?
