Alright lads, quick question.

About to get an SSD am I better cloning my current raptor HDD or starting over? I heard cloning to SSD mite not get the full performance out of it when its up and running , any truth to this?

Cheers.

A new Install is your best bet.

New install.
Cloning an old install won't have proper options set for driving an SSD. Heck, the odds are that your old install was done with the drive controller set to the default IDE mode; SSD installs should be done in AHCI mode. There have been articles on this in the Storage section of the Articles.
The clone may not be properly aligned on 4K alignment, causing all kinds of grief.
And since SSDs are small (on a budget like mine, anyway) it's good to save space by starting with a fresh install. Tends to be smaller than one that's been running a few years.
